Tonight I tried capoeira, the Brazilian dance fighting.  It’s pretty awesome and amazing.  I was so akward and clumsy but it was so fun and I will go back again.  The group was so supportive and friendly.  Thank God I wasn’t the only person there who was new.  Phew.  I sweat like crazy and feel disgusting, but it was worth it.  I am hoping to gradually improve so that I don’t feel so akward doing it.  Oh man, it is awesome. 

I was supposed to meet someone there, but she never showed.  That’s ok, I met her friend who is leaving for Paris tomorrow.  She was cool.  I hope that Lonna, the friend that didn’t show, gets a chance to try it out as it is the coolest thing.  Granted there are times when it seems a liiiiitle like a dance-off, but the skills required are out of this world. 

Ok, got to get ready for tomorrow.  It should be a good one.

For the first time, I took the metro at night.  It wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be.  I listened to some lovely music and enjoyed the beer-enduced buzz for the majority of the ride.  There are some strange, strange people on the metro. 

At this event, I was talking to a co-worker who was a pleasant man, but I thought was gay.  At one point, while we were talking, another young man–wearing skinny jeans and a blazer (eeeeek)–came up and started talking about the music and how surprized he was at the music selection.  There was so much subtle flirting going on that I starting walking away and looking at my cell phone.  When the other guy left, I resumed my conversation with the co-worker.  In the end, after quite a few men were making sweet conversation with him, he started talking about how he had to go meet up with his girlfriend to head to a birthday party.  It came as a shocker to me that he wasn’t gay.  Seriously, sometimes I just can’t tell with men down here.  Seriously.
